Fresh, viable seed from one of the most important plants used in the ayahuasca traditions of South America. Psychotria viridis seeds are slow to germinate, but will reward the patient gardener who wants to add this sacred ally to their shamanic garden.
Seeds are best germinated in a soilless media such as peat moss, vermicultite/perlite mixtures, or between dampened paper towels. Mix seeds with a small amount of growing media and seal in small zip-lock plastic bags. Keep them warm, about 76 to 80 degrees, and in diffused light. Seeds will begin to sprout in about 3 months and continue to germinate for up to 9 months or more.
